The Hamad International Airport (HIA) recently announced the expansion of its partnership with the German professional soccer team FC Bayern.
The Doha airport is the home base for the Qatar national airline and ITMS client, Qatar Airways. In the upcoming 2017/2018 season, the Hamad International Airport will be a jersey sponsor of the Bundesliga team. The airport’s logo will be presented on the sleeves of the esteemed and successful German soccer club. Last year, the two partners started their cooperation, which resulted in the HIA being seen in the Allianz Arena, the home stadium for the FC Bayern team. This new contract is in effect through the end of the 2023 season.
Qatar Airways, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, has also continued to be actively engaged in the sponsoring of sports. As the official partner and official airline of FIFA, the airline will also continue to be very active in the soccer world through 2022. Qatar Airways will be the official airline of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the airlines home country Qatar. Already in June Qatar Airways presented the medals at the FIFA Confederations Cup.
Since 2013, ITMS Marketing has been responsible for the airline’s PR in the German and Austrian markets. In addition to the general press work and contact management for journalists and influencers, the solution provider is also responsible for organizing press travel, press conferences and other events for the airline. Particularly noteworthy is the global launch of the most modern aircraft in the world – the Airbus A350 XWB – at the beginning of 2015 in Frankfurt am Main. More than 50 international press representatives were enthusiastically attracted by the event, which was eagerly awaited worldwide.
For the fourth year in a row, the PR experts were assisting their client this year at the world’s largest tourism fair, ITB in Berlin. More than 250 journalists attended the meticulously planned press conference, gathered information about the airline’s metrics and produced a new, internal visitor record.
