The Ober-Mörler Tennis Club’s Bundesliga team actively promotes the “Serving Aces Against Cancer” initiative to support the Deutsche Krebshilfe

The sports marketing agency ITMS Sports is continuing the “Aufschlag gegen Krebs” (Serving Aces Against Cancer) initiative after a successful start to further support the Deutsche Krebshilfe (German Cancer Aid). Launched in collaboration with the men’s 60s Bundesliga team of the Ober-Mörler Tennis Club (omtc), the initiative has already achieved significant success. The team has qualified for the finals of the German Championships and is using this platform to further advance the initiative.

Combining Sport and Social Commitment

The omtc men’s 60s team, which competes in the highest German division, combines its on-court goals with a commitment to the “Serving Aces Against Cancer” initiative, which focuses on promoting cancer prevention and rehabilitation as well as raising funds. Under the patronage of Jan Weckler, the head of the Wetterau district, the initiative has received a strong response and now aims to motivate clubs and players throughout Germany to join in.

Agency Expertise Brings Positive Results

ITMS Sports developed the initiative, secured supporters and sponsors, and actively oversees its implementation, which has led to a strong response and positive outcomes. “Our ‘Serving Aces Against Cancer’ campaign has had a great start, and we are excited to now bring it to a larger stage,” says George Pascal, Executive Director of ITMS Sports and an active member of the team. “With the German Championships as a platform, we want to reach the entire tennis community in Germany and raise awareness for cancer prevention.”

Successful Charity Weekend and Future Plans

A major highlight of the campaign was the “Serving Aces Against Cancer” charity weekend in June, where recreational players had the opportunity to team up with the squad’s top players in an exciting pro-am tournament to raise funds for the Deutsche Krebshilfe. The weekend was a great success and demonstrated broad support for the initiative. Based on this positive response, the campaign plans to increase its fundraising goal for 2025 and involve more clubs and supporters from the tennis community.

Pascal adds: “We now invite clubs and teams from all over Germany to become part of this initiative. Together, we can achieve great things for this important cause.”

The team’s players are fully committed to the “Serving Aces Against Cancer” initiative to reach as many people as possible

National Championships in Germany

On the first weekend of September, the omtc men’s 60s team will compete in the finals of the German Championships in Neumünster, located in northern Germany. As the 2024 Southwest German Champions, they will face the champions of the other three top division leagues and square off against teams featuring renowned former tennis greats such as Anders Jarryd, Mikael Pernfors, and Jeremy Bates.
