As the first customer worldwide, Qatar Airways introduced its new Airbus A350 XWB service in Frankfurt. A major press event with a myriad of day activities – including a red carpet welcoming ceremony at the gate, press conference and a media tour of the aircraft – was structured around the landing of the first aircraft at Frankfurt Airport. The event was thematic and was also perfectly fine-tuned for the brand. The event was very well attended by more than 150 international journalists and achieved global media coverage.
Qatar Airways introduced the world to the new pride of their fleet in the form of the Airbus A350 XWB (Xtra Wide Body), an aircraft of the latest generation and specification. The new platform plays a pivotal role in the aviation industry. As the global launch customer, the honor of conducting the first commercial flight belonged to Qatar Airways.
The first landing represented a prime photo opportunity for photographers and camera teams, who were allowed exclusive access to the apron, made possible through specially arranged waivers.
More than 150 media representatives, including reporters from RTL, Focus, FAZ and CNN, were in attendance on site in Frankfurt to witness the first touchdown of the newest member of the Qatar Airways fleet.
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, and Fabrice Brégier, Airbus CEO and President, are welcomed by Dr. Michael Müller, board member of the airport operator Fraport.
